Dear Staff, 

I want to welcome everyone to the 2021-22 school year! It is going to be an amazing, challenging, and exciting year. At DUSD, we have learned that there is no challenge too great if we work together, and if we value everyone's role and contributions. 

 

As we start the school year, we need to place the highest priority on creating a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for our students, our parents/guardians, and for each other. Every staff member has an important part to play in accomplishing this goal. We have all been through an unprecedented experience, and the effects are still with us. We need to take care of our students, and we need to take care of each other.

 

We are not going back to normal; we are going forward to a new reality, where our students will need us more than ever. Be flexible, be ready to adjust, be ready to make changes, be ready to lead the way ... just as you have for the past 16 months. We've got this!
