Mrs. Vargas

Welcome to Albany Park. I am Mrs. Vargas, the new principal at Albany Park. I am excited to meet you and your family, and know that wonderful learning opportunities will continue here at school. At Albany Park, my staff and I have prepared all summer to create a safe and positive learning environment for your child.  Each teacher has participated in staff development and is prepared to motivate and give stellar instruction so that each child can reach their full potential. I look forward to interacting with you and partnering with parents to continue to make Albany Park a family/community school.  If you would like to participate in our school events, school site council or new parent initiatives, please sign up in the office with Mrs. Trevino.

My family and I reside in Delano. I have two young adults that graduated from Cesar Chavez High School. My daughter is attending Bakersfield College and plays on the tennis team, my oldest son is at Bakersfield College and learning Real Estate, my middle son is currently attending Cesar Chavez as a 10th grader, and my youngest attends LaVina Middle School. We are very involved in the community and believe in the greatness of Delano.

We are excited to have each panther reach their maximum potential at Albany Park. We are focusing on small group reading instruction, AR reading and Math fluency goals to help us reach our SBAC goals this year.  We will ensure that all students receive a well rounded education that will prepare them for middle school, high school and then college. We want each Albany Park panther to achieve personal success and learn about the importance of giving back to their community. We are committed to instilling character values that will help promote student growth. We will also be focusing on social emotional learning to help promote academic learning. We are laying the foundation for high levels of academic success.  A few ways that you can help us at home include, ensuring that your child has a quiet place to study and complete class homework, ensuring that your child gets 9-10 hours of sleep each night, and ensuring that your child attends class daily. If your child is running a fever and is ill, keep your child at home until he/she feels better and is not showing any signs of illness.

At Albany, we know that your child’s success depends on teamwork. The Albany Park staff would like to thank you for your patience and support during a new chapter in our students' lives. Please don’t hesitate to call, or email your child’s teacher or the front office when you need extra support. We want to encourage positive parent trust and relationships. We are excited and eager to open our 2023-2024 school year! Let’s rock this year, Albany Park Panthers!
